Clean Baltic Sea Fund

The John Nurminen Foundation has founded a Clean Sea Fund. By making a donation to it interested people can make a concrete impact on the state of the Baltic Sea. Thefunds pays a special attention to the eutrophication of the Baltic Sea, which is a serious environmental problem, as evidenced by things such as mats of blue-green algae in the Gulf of Finland in summer months. It is known that an important single factor that increases eutrophication is phosphorus, which enters the sea with untreated wastewaters.
